"A Relationship is a Two Way Street"
While I should be working on a lot of school work and such, I'm multitasking while I'm working on english stuff, watching the Biggest Loser: Families :] I think it's a great show, and I won't get into that. But one of the trainers said "a relationship is a two way street". This got me thinking about something that was sort of already in my head. Yes, a relationship is definitely a two way street and needs to consist of things from two (or more) people. But in some friendships, sometimes one person needs more support, more advice, and more help from the other friend. I've had friends who needed me more then they needed me, or I turned to my friend more then they turned to me for help. In some cases, if someone asked me for advice or help or anything, I would feel like a failure as a friend if I wasn't able to help them. But I've recently realized that a friendship doesn't always need equal help from each person. Sometimes its good just to have someone to talk to, or if it is something you can't really tell people about, it's just good to know that someone is there for you. So next time I feel like a bad friend by not having words of wisdom or encouragement to help my friend, I know that I can still be supportive by just being there for them to talk about it, or even just to know I'm there no matter what. So the saying, "a relationship is a two way street" is true yet false at the same time. But I guess everything can be taken into a perspective as true and false at the same time...
